Spring is Loud

Spring is loud.

Everything comes back. Everything returns to us from somewhere someplace else. I always imagined that some place else to be a rather fun place where all the migrating beasts have a really large party at our expense. I can see it now the birds sitting around having a cocktail and talking about the Winter. In my mind they are sitting on lawn chairs by the beach overlooking the ocean.

“Oh those stupid humans. Can you imagine staying through the Winter?”

“I know I know. Hey Fred didn’t you over-winter once a few years back?”

“Ya, I got stuck in this garage and the next thing you know I passed out from hunger. I woke up in this cage by a window. In there house!!!”

“Jesus weren’t you scared? I’d of shat myself.”

“Oh ya freaking terrified, and they kept coming up to the cage and looking in. Let me tell you Man are they ugly. No beaks at all. None.”

Yup, I can imagine it all. It seemed silly to me that we never migrated either. It’s just alway’s seamed like the best thing to do. This is what you do when the snow flies. I digress though.

Spring is loud.

I think the party really starts when everything returns to us here. When the Crocuses come out and the blue jay’s return. The sun light itself seems louder than normal. It’s way of dancing around the yard is different than usual. Bouncing here and there it collides with itself laughing the whole time. It’s like a giant mosh-pit for sunlight.

Spring is Loud.

It’s gregarious in it’s very essence. It’s all about throwing the windows open and playing loud music throughout the house. Dusting out the details. Vacuuming the rugs.

We can sit on the porch again. Yup, better have your earplugs people because..

Spring is Loud and it’s here.

Hilarious Trevor and great post! The birds come down to us and we get to talk to them all winter. They tell us all kinds of stories here about you all up in the north country. Of course, they were a little irritated that we got as cold as we did for as long as we did this winter. Hopefully they'll try again next year.

But yes, spring is back... we mowed the lawn last week for the first time! Almost time for me to plant grass plugs to replace what died during the winter. And well my vegetable garden is doing well - tomatoes should be ripe soon!
